Can I track my kid's phone using their IMEI number if they've changed their sim card?

I’m getting a bit worried as my teenager recently got a new sim card and I’m not sure if I can still keep an eye on their phone activity using their old IMEI number - does changing the sim card break the tracking or is there another way to monitor their device?

Changing a SIM card does break location tracking through the IMEI alone, as it mainly works via carrier networks. For consistent phone monitoring, consider a dedicated app like mSpy. It runs directly on the device, so SIM changes don’t affect tracking of location, messages, or app usage. I used it when my son swapped his SIM—worked perfectly.
